Iranian President arrives in Islamabad today

ISLAMABAD: Iranian President Dr Hassan Rouhani arrives in Islamabad today for talks with Pakistani leadership on host of issues. The Iranian President is visiting Pakistan at the invitation of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif. The visit has assumed significance after lifting of sanctions on Iran that has opened new avenues for enhancing economic interaction. A high-level delegation comprising ministers, senior officials and businessmen will accompany President Rouhani on his first visit to Pakistan. During his meetings with President Mamnoon Hussain and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, the Iranian President will discuss cooperation on regional and international issues of mutual concern. Foreign Office says the two-day visit of Dr Rouhani would further deepen the existing fraternal ties between the two countries.
